Ofa Tasks Oghara Indigenes In Asaba, Other Groups On Devt

A former Commissioner in the Board of Delta State Oil Pro­ducing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Henry Ofa has emphasized the need for every socio-cultural organization in the Diaspora to complement efforts of government by contributing their quota to the development of their communities.

Ofa, while speaking as a special guest of honour at the 2024 End-of- Year party, organized by Ukoko-Efe Oghara, in Asaba, challenged socio-cultural organizations in the Diaspora to provide socio-economic and infra­structural aid in their communities.

He called on sons and daughters of Oghara kingdom living in the Delta State capital territory to identify with the association, which he described as “home away from home”

The former DESOPADEC commis­sioner extolled the exemplary leader­ship qualities of retired Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Civil Ser­vice Commission, Dr. Moses Bragiwa, for the provisions of teaching aid and note books for pupils and students in selected public primary and second­ary schools in Oghara kingdom.

Ofa, a trained teacher and former Secretary of Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said he was happy that the association has justified the objectives of its founding fathers.

The former commissioner rep­resenting Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe in the Board of DESOPADEC be­tween 2012 and 2015, acknowledged the contributions of notable leaders, including the Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Oil and Gas, Mr. Frank Omoko towards the progress of the association.

He charged his kinsmen to remain good ambassadors of Oghara king­dom by showing total commitment to progress in Oghara, inculcating the virtues of hard work and dedication to worthy causes.

The Chairman of Ukoko-Efe Oghara Association and retired Permanent Secretary, Dr. Moses Bragiwa, said the formation of the association was to cater to the welfare of members, provision of empowerment and other developmental strides in Oghara Kingdom.

While thanking God for the achievements recorded by the association during the year under review, Bragiwa acknowledged the contributions of members of the association toward the procurement of exercise books worth millions of naira which was donated to pupils and students in selected public primary and secondary schools in Oghara kingdom.
