Insecurity: Failure Not An Option, CAS Challenges Newly Promoted Officers

THE Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has challenged newly promoted officers to deploy leadership competences to achieve outstanding results, saying that failure is not an option.

Abubakar gave the charge during the decoration of the recently promoted 19 Air Commodores to the substantive rank of Air Vice Marshal and 33 Group Captains to Air Commodore, yesterday in Abuja.

He reminded the newly promoted officers that their elevation was not merely a reward but a call to higher responsibility.

“Accordingly, you must continue to display the same exceptional determination, selfless service, and commitment to excellence which earned you your elevation.

“I must add that as you assume higher responsibilities, their support will be even more critical. “To other personnel aspiring for promotion, let today’s ceremony serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration.

“Our gathering here today reaffirms that hard work and dedication are the cornerstones of success, and they will always be rewarded in the long run,” he said.

The CAS also reminded the officers to be mindful of the challenges ahead, adding that the task of safeguarding the nation remained a top priority.

He urged them to ensure compliance with the directives of President Bola Tinubu, to foster a secure environment where citizens can thrive and businesses flourish, and individuals freely pursue their dreams and aspirations.

“This responsibility falls on all of us, but especially on you, the newly promoted air ranking officers.

“You are entrusted with the critical duty of meeting the high expectations placed upon us by the President and all Nigerians, to lead the charge toward a safer, more secure, and more prosperous Nigeria.

“To the newly promoted officers, your elevation is not merely a reward but a call to higher responsibility,” he added.

Earlier, the Chief of Administration, AVM Idi Sani, said that the Air Force Council approved the promotion of the officers, having found them worthy in character and professionalism, after a thorough and painstaking evaluation and assessment process.

Ali said their elevation was an indication of the confidence that the NAF had in their ability to perform at the next higher rank and also a reward for hard work, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice.

“Accordingly, it is incumbent on you not to betray the confidence reposed in you by the Service.

“You must therefore continue to be diligent, focused, and professional in the discharge of your duties, and ensure you continue to add value to the Air Force and indeed the nation for recognising you today,” he said. (NAN)
