…As Youths Get N500,000 For Xmas Carnival
It was a joyous celebration for the youths and women of Umuezei village in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State as one of their sons and brother, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji offered them cash and food items for the Christmas celebration.
While the youths received N500 cash and drinks for a Christmas carnival, the women, both by birth and marriage, got an undisclosed amount, four bags of rice and drinks also for the celebration.
Speaking to journalists during the get-together for the women, Ogbueshi Okonji, the Chief Executive of Dada Global Resources, said it was an annual event to celebrate the wives and daughters of Umu-Iyibu village, Umuezei, Asaba, adding that the Christmas season requires that one cannot celebrate God’s blessings and faithfulness alone.
According to him, God had been faithful to his family and they have received upliftment and goodness of God, stressing that the annual celebration with the women has brought favours to his family.
Ogbueshi Okonji, who is the immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area, thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for favourably disposed to the infrastructural development and empowerment of the people of Oshimili South local government area through the MORE Agenda.
He also thanked the former Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his support to the present administration, pointing out that his vision for the state was yielding positive results for the people.
Ogbueshi Okonji used the opportunity to laud the unity of PDP members in Oshimili South and also commended the local government Chairman, Chief Kelvin Ezenyili for his development efforts and for implementing the programmes of the party.
He was also full of praises for his kinsmen for choosing him as the Chairman of the Ezenei Executive Committee, assuring them of honesty and integrity in service.
Earlier, the Secretary of the daughters (Umuada) of Umu-Iyibu, Umuezei, Asaba, Mrs Josephine Okwudi, and the Secretary of wives of the village (Ogboho Ogbe), Mrs. Josephine Okonweze commended Ogbueshi Okonji for sustaing the annual get-together and Christmas gifts for the women.
The duo, who spoke on behalf of the leaders, Mama Felicia Okonkwo and Mrs.Felicia Chukwumah, respectively, prayed God to bless the Okonji family and replenish their purse, just as they appreciated Dada Okonji for having a spirit of giving.
