A suspected kidnapper has been apprehended by security agents in Ogwashi-Uku metropolis.
The suspect, Sunday Friday, who was apprehended somewhere at Ogbe-Nti Obi in Ogwashi-Uku metropolis was identified as an indegene of Eket in Akwa-Ibom State.
Findings from security sources revealed that the suspect has been in the wanted book of the police.
He was reported to have been fingered by two suspects, who were apprehended sometime in December last year during interrogation at Zone 5 in Benin City, Edo State.
The suspect who is said to be a dance entertainer and often performs at various occasions for tips without formal invitation was revealed to often dress like a comedian or jester.
Sources said he was in a burial ceremony that held last week Friday somewhere off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku road to entertain the attendees of the burial ceremony.
In a video post that has gone viral, the suspect during intergation said he dresses in a mode known as ‘Papa Uwa’, which according to security sources is one of the information which the previously apprehended suspects had given to the police as the identity of Sunday Friday.
Further findings from security sources hinted that they have been trailing the suspect since he was fingered until yesterday when he was apprehended.
“The suspect was apprehended somewhere at Ogbe-Nti Obi in Umudei quarters, Ogwashi-Uku where he resides. When he was caught, we were quickly tipped off and we went to the scene and held him.
“We have handed him over to the police in Ogwashi-Uku who will in turn hand him over to the police in Zone 5 where they are being investigated”, our vigilante source disclosed.
Recall that a wave of kidnapping incidents had hit Ogwashi-Uku and its environs in recent times with several persons including an NDLEA officer as victims.
Two youths were during one of the kidnap incidents, shot dead by the hoodlums somewhere at Agidiasei-Edo-Otulu road after they had succeeded in kidnapping two victims.
