The initiative is designed to enhance access to healthcare for footballers, both active and retired, across Delta State.

Akpoveta noted that the synergy between the DSCHC and DFA aims to address long-standing health challenges faced by footballers, particularly those who have retired and may lack access to adequate healthcare. By enrolling over 2,000 members, the initiative will provide essential medical coverage, ensuring players can focus on their careers without the burden of healthcare worries.

Adode expressed optimism that the collaboration would help establish a dedicated health scheme tailored to the unique needs of athletes, create awareness and promote preventive healthcare measures within the football community, provide accessible and affordable healthcare services to both active and retired footballers in the state and reinforce Delta State reputation as a leader in sports development and human capital advancement He commended the Chairman, DG and team of the Commission for their commitment to improving the health and welfare of the populace.
