Community In Abia Bannished Gay Man, Declares Partner Wanted For Ritual

The Ugwuozu Amuda Isuochi Community in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, a community that abhores homosexual activities has banished one Amaechi Nzubechi from the community and also declared 24 years old Madu Godwin Udochukwu wanted for his alleged role in homosexual activities.

Amuda Isuochi Community youths and vigilantes who are said to be on the trail of other gay friends of Nzubechi and Udochukwu has vowed to crack down on other gay men in Amuda Isuochi Community and bring them to face the law of the land.

A source in the community disclosed to our correspondent that while Madu Godwin Udochukwu has been declared wanted, Amaechi Nzubechi was banished from the community on account of their preferred sexual orientation of being gay men (homosexuals).

It was said that, the community got the information of Nzubechi homosexual practices from his parents who walked into the room and caught Nzubechi and another of his partner called Udochukwu making love.

It was revealed by close neighbours that Nzubechi parents caught them in the act and reported them to elders in the family, who ordered the youths to tie them up with rope and flog them with sticks.

According to the youth who spoke to our correspondent, the only reason Nzubechi and Udochukwu survived being mobbed and killed that day was because Udochukwu’s mother and other women around who were crying pleaded that their lives should be spared.

However, Udochukwu’s uncle who was not pleased with the decision of the elders to free them reported the matter to the council of chiefs who now ordered the community youths and vigilantes to apprehend Nzubechi and Udochukwu to the community town hall.

The community youth revealed that while they were able to arrest Nzubechi, Udochukwu haven gotten wind of what was happening managed to escape from the community through the help of some friends and family members.

According to report, Nzubechi in his confession before the council of chiefs revealed that Udochukwu and himself has been sex partners since 2018, and he also mentioned some of their friends from the neighboring community who are also involved in homosexual activities.

One of the Council of chiefs on the condition of anonymity revealed that, Nzubechi has been banished from the community while a declaration for the apprehension of Udochukwu was issued.

According to the Chief, Udochukwu when caught will undergo serious rituals that may even take his life, because sacrifice to appease the gods of the community is very heinous as the community abhores all form of homosexual act.

The Amuda Isuochi community  vigilantes is said to have through the order of the council of chiefs   increased its manhunt for the Madu Godwin Udochukwu the homosexualist.

According to report, Udochukwu’s and other gay men continuous run away from the community is considered very critical to their continued existence, as they would be stoned to death if caught by the community or handed over to the police for persecution.

The law in Nigeria makes it illegal for gay people to even hold a meeting or something of such. The Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act also criminalises homosexual clubs, associations and organizations, with penalties of up to 14 years in jail.

Beyond that, the Act provides that anybody found supporting/promoting acts of gay or lesbianism in clubs or elsewhere is punishable with 10 years imprisonment.
