LEADERS and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olomu Ward 1, in Ughelli South Local Government Area have suspended the ward secretary for gross misconduct by allegedly summoning the executive members to a shrine.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, Chief Raymond Temisere, and the Acting Secretary, Frank Okuro of Olomu Ward 1, they held that the secretary was suspended for gross insubordination and fake information against the executive.
According to the statement, “The PDP Olomu ward 1 executives in Exco meeting held at Agbon Olomu town hall suspend their secretary Mr Oscar Odudu for gross insubordination, divulging fake information against the exco, summoning of notable ward leader to a juju shrine at Avwirhe-Agbarha over false allegation and causing disaffection among the party members in violation of the party’s constitution and principles.
“When the executive invited him for a meeting to defend the allegation against him, he bluntly told the chairman that the tenure of the executive has expired on June 7 2024. Therefore, the Exco lack the power to summon any party meeting.
“After a careful review and deliberations on the activities of the secretary, Mr Oscar Odudu, the executive unanimously agreed to suspend him by section 59(1d) and 58(1g, 1h,1j) of the party’s constitution. “For the avoidance of doubts, the party in the ward will no longer condone any form of indiscipline and unruly behaviour from anyone.”
Efforts to contact, Mr Oscar Odudu were not successful at the time of the report.
