BY JUMAI NWACHUKWU

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, Cdr Mathew Ovie has commended the exceptional support provided by the Delta State Government towards enhancing security in the state.

Cdr Ovie made the statement during a courtesy visit by members of the State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) to his office in Asaba, where he praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his administration’s commitment to bolstering security infrastructure, describing the governor’s efforts as second to none.

In his remarks, Ovie highlighted the proactive measures taken by the state government to address security challenges, including the recent distribution of vehicles to various security agencies across Delta State.

This initiative, he noted, has significantly enhanced the operational capacity of security personnel in combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.

“The Delta State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to the security and welfare of Deltans,” Ovie said, adding “The provision of vehicles to security agencies is a clear indication of the government’s resolve to prioritize the safety of lives and property.”

The Commandant also emphasized the importance of collaboration between security agencies and the public. He called on all Deltans to actively support the government’s vision by cooperating with security operatives and adhering to directives aimed at maintaining peace and order.

He expressed optimism that with sustained support from the government and the public, security in Delta would continue to improve.
