The DELTA State Government said it has concluded plans to construct a befitting event centre to cater for Warri and environs.
The Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Godknows Angele disclosed this in an exclusive interview in his office. He explained that the event centre, which would be modeled like the DOME Event Centre in Asaba would take care of the needs of both public and private sector in the oil city, Warri and environs.
Hon. Angele said that his ministry intended to carry out massive renovation, expansion and rehabilitation of the Government House annex and Lodge in Warri to provide conducive working environment for its staff to make it a central administrative hub for public servants scattered across different structures in the city.
The commissioner pointed out that Governor Oborevwori was desirous of giving public servants in the Warri axis and environs a sense of community by providing a more conducive work environment.
“This will be the first time in the history of our state that the government house annex, Warri, would undergo such a massive maintenance exercise in the level we are planning.”, he said.
According to him, this renovation would include the government lodge in the oil city.
