Prominent Deltans have continued to express joy over Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s recognition as the Governor of the Year, describing it as a landmark achievement and a source of pride for the state.
Recall that Governor Oborevwori received the prestigious award in acknowledgement of his outstanding governance and steadfast commitment to advancing Delta State through his MORE Agenda.
The award by ThisDay/Arise TV affirms Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to sustainable development and impactful leadership since assuming office 19 months ago.
Reacting to the honour, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji lauded the recognition, describing it as proof that the Governor’s achievements resonate beyond the state.
Speaking to The Pointer in Asaba shortly after the award ceremony, Ogbueshi Okonji congratulated Governor Oborevwori for bringing glory to Delta State, stressing that the governor’s accomplishment would boost the fortunes of the state.
He urged residents to continue supporting the Governor in his mission to deliver the dividends of democracy, emphasizing that the Governor remains resolute in actualizing the MORE Agenda.
“Governor Oborevwori has consistently brought honour to Delta State. His commitment to governance and ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends has not gone unnoticed, and we are delighted that his efforts are now receiving global recognition,” Ogbueshi Okonji said.
He also commended the organizers of the award for acknowledging Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and contributions, noting that “a goldfish has no hiding place.”
Encouraging the Governor to sustain his momentum, Ogbueshi Okonji assured that the people of Oshimili South remain unwavering in their support for his administration and expressed confidence in his capacity to achieve even greater feats during a second term in office.
