THE Director-General of Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, has expressed admiration for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for his commitment towards transforming the state.
This commendation comes as Governor Oborevwori receives the prestigious Governor of the Year 2024 Award, conferred by Thisday Newspaper and Arise News in recognition of his exemplary leadership.
Speaking on the award in Asaba, Dr. Akpoveta praised the governor’s visionary leadership, particularly in the healthcare sector.
He highlighted the governor’s role in enhancing the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme, which has expanded access to affordable healthcare for residents.
According to Dr. Akpoveta, the scheme’s success is a testament to the governor’s dedication to improving the quality of life for all Deltans. “Governor Oborevwori’s leadership has been transformative. His focus on strengthening healthcare, alongside other critical sectors, reflects his deep commitment to the well-being of our people,” he stated. “Governor Oborevwori’s administration has been characterized by a relentless drive to modernize Delta State, addressing long-standing challenges and laying the groundwork for sustainable development. His efforts to improve infrastructure, revitalize education, and create economic opportunities have resonated with citizens, earning him widespread admiration.” He said.
Akpoveta noted that ‘The Governor of the Year’ award underscored the impact of his policies, which have been designed to foster growth and inclusivity. He emphasized that the recognition was well-deserved, as it reflected the tangible progress being made across Delta State, under the governor’s leadership.
The DG, called on citizens to continue supporting the governor’s vision for a better and more prosperous state. He described the award as a symbol of collective effort and urged everyone to remain committed to the shared goal of progress and development.
