KINGSHIP: Ezechi Sues For Peace, Reconciliation In Aboh Kingdom

The traditional ruler of Aboh Kingdom, Ndokwa East Local Goverment Area, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Gregory Oputa 111 has been urged to seek ways of ensuring peace and reconciliation in the kingdom.

The member representing the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi made the call during a courtesy visit to the Monarch in Aboh.

Hon. Ezechi noted that the emergence and coronation of Obi Oputa 111 was not without opposition from some aggrieved persons, leading to palpable tension in the land.

The lawmaker, however, said God had chosen the king to be on the throne of Aboh Kingdom at this time in history, adding that the presentation of a staff of office to him by the state government had put paid on his coronation.

He appealed to Obi Oputa to extend the hand of fellowship to the aggrieved persons and seek reconciliation in order to restore peace to the kingdom and set it on path to accelerated development, under his watch.

Hon. Ezechi also urged the people of Aboh, especially the youths, to eschew bitterness and accept Obi Oputa 111 as their king for the greater good of the kingdom, promising to be deeply involved in the reconciliation process to make it effective.

Obi Oputa 111, while welcoming Hon. Ezechi, who was accompanied by the Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government, Chief Vincent Osilonya, among others, thanked him for the visit and his interest in the restoration of peace to Aboh.

The traditional ruler said since his coronation and receipt of the staff of office, he had tried to extend the olive branch to the aggrieved persons in the interest of peace, but that they appeared to be some of them remained adamant to the peace moves.

The monarch urged Hon. Ezechi and other leaders in Ndokwa East to assist in the reconciliation process, as he was keen on carrying everyone along to make his reign peaceful and impactful.

Hon Ezechi, while in Aboh, also paid a condolence visit to the Ugbomah family of Umuossai quarters over the gruesome murder of their son, 32-year old Henry Ugbomah, by assailants suspected to be Federal hunters.

He condemned the killing in very strong terms and called on the State Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
