Decision To Dump PDP Did Not Come Lightly – Okobah

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Dr Chris Okobah has said that the decision dump the party did not come lightly.

Dr Okobah, a foundation member and great grassroots mobilizer in Onicha – Ugbo , Aniocha North Local Government Área, decamped from the PDP along with several supporters at the weekend.

According to him, the decision to dump PDP did not come lightly in view of the fact that he had been a dedicated and committed member of the party who had contributed most significantly to the success of the party since inception.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman, Ward 2, Onicha – Ugbo, Mr Chukwuka Nwokolo , Dr Okobah said he could no longer continue his membership of the PDP due to what he called “unfathomable disaffection and internal squabbles that had destabilized the party.”

Dr Okobah further stated that the current state of affairs within the PDP “no longer aligned with his political principles, adding that it did not also offer a conducive platform for effective leadership and development.”

According to him “The current state of affairs within the PDP no longer aligns with my political principles, nor does it offer a conducive platform for leadership and development. As a result, I, along with over one thousand of my supporters have decided to quit the party.”

Dr Okobah maintained that as a result of the state of affairs within the PDP, he decided to quit the party along with his supporters of the party in Ward 2 , Onicha -Ugbo.

He appreciated the relationships he had built within the PDP and the experiences gained over the years, assuring that he remained committed to the progress and development of Onicha- Ugbo, even as he offered to serve in any capacity in future geared towards promoting the welfare of his people.

Dr Chris Okobah has held several esteemed and influential positions within the party at the national level, including Chairman of the House of Assembly Appeal Panel, Chairman of the Senate Appeal panel , Secretary of the House Appeal Panel and a Member of the PDP Presidential Election Committee.
