Youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State have been urged to appreciate their role as the driving force in the electoral process and support the party’s vision for 2027.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, made the call when a delegation of the eight LGA Youth Leaders in Delta South Senatorial District paid him a courtesy visit.
Hon. Erijo said although women had the numerical strength to propel the electoral process, the youths were in the forefront of ensuring the success of the process.
He appreciated the invaluable contributions of PDP youths, especially in Delta South, which culminated to the victory of the party in the 2023 elections and urged them to sustain the tempo in future elections.
Hon. Erijo emphasized that the youth leaders should stay united with their peers and work closely with the leaders and women of the party in their various LGAs, as that was the surest ways to strengthen the party and enhance its fortunes.
The Chief of Staff challenged the youth leaders to come up with ideas that would grow the party in the respective LGAs, assuring them of his continued support for the party in the senatorial district.
On appointment, he said all hope was not lost as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was not done yet with the exercise and urged those expecting to be appointed to be patient.
The leader of the delegation and Delta South Youth Leader of the party, Pastor Felix Aluta said it was a familiarization visit to the Chief of Staff, which provided an opportunity to inform him about the progress and challenges of the LGA youth wings.
Pastor Aluta, who is also the State Assistant Youth Leader of the party, said the youths were happy with the giant developmental strides of Governor Sheriff’ Oborevwori and could not but seek ways to strengthen the party in Delta South ahead of the 2027 general election.
