Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emma Chinye, in collaboration with the Army, has established a unit of the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Asaba, to synergize with security agencies for effective policing of the council area.
Chinye declared that it is a good step to bring Nigerian Army, as part of measures to curb and control crime in the area, adding that their presence would spur effective security services and put fear in the eyes of the criminal elements terrorizing the people.
Meanwhile in an effort to curb the destructive impact of hard drugs and cultism among younger generation, Hon Chinye has called on security agencies and the Anti- Cult volunteer corps to brace up to the challenges, while parents and guardians were equally enjoined to be alive to good parenting.
The local government boss reiterated that he was elated by the approved establishment of a unit for soldiers in the area and for rapid response to insecurity, while stakeholders commended the Chairman for the development and urged the agencies to periodically embark on security patrol for effective security coverage of every nook and cranny of the area.
He further urged them to engage in robust collaboration for a more effective crime prevention and control in the local government headquarters Issele-Uku and its neighbouring communities, as well as other neighbouring local government area.
