More 600 Persons Benefit From Free Medical Care In Asaba

No fewer than 600 persons benefited from the free medical programme sponsored by the Councilor representing Ward Seven, Umuagu, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon. Frank Chukwudi Okonji last weekend.

The beneficiaries include elderly men and women, youths and other residents, including Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful in the area.

Hon. Okonji, the Majority Leader of the Oshimili South Local Government Legisture, sponsored the free medicare in collaboration with the OMIWA Foundation and beneficiaries mostly from Ward Seven, Umuagu enjoyed free medical test, drugs, eyeglasses and free counseling.

Addressing reporters at the venue of the exercise, the PDP chairman, Mr. Ifesiokwu described the event as first of it’s kind in the locality, posting that it was a result of quality representation by Hon. Okonji.

According to him, the outing was a wonderful project as the mind and the body must work together in good health, adding that the constituents need to be healthy to reap the benefits of his representation.

Mr. Ifesiokwu commended him for having the interest of his constituents at heart, adding that he had embarked on various empowerment programmes, including payment of JAMB registration fees for indigent students, in the past.

In his comments, the Councilor, Hon. Frank Okonji said the free medical checks and drugs were part of his programmes and empowerment to guarantee good life for the constituents.

While saying that he still have lots of empowerment for the people, he said that that was why he was elected and urged the people to have faith in him.
