Oseji’s Appointment As Hos Well- Deserved —MDCAN

THE Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Hospital Management Board, HMB, has said that the profile of the new Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, speaks volume and expressed optimism that she will bring her wealth of experience to bear in the good governance of the state.

MDCAN, HMB Delta State Chapter, stated this while reacting to the appointment and subsequent swearing-in of Dr Oseji as the new Head of Service of Delta State by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, yesterday at government House, Asaba.

The body described the appointment of Dr. Oseji, a Consultant Public Health as well deserved, having rose from the cadres in the service of Delta State to the pinnacle of her career in public service.

The Chairman, MDCAN, HMB, Delta State, Dr. Philemon Okolie, alongside Secretary, Dr. Onoriode Umolo and Publicity/Social Secretary, Dr. Valentine Eziashi, said DrOseji has all it takes to lead the Delta state public service to a high standard as the HoS.

The officials on behalf of the Association, acknowledged that Dr Oseji has been very active in MDCAN HMB activities till date and prayed God to grant her the well wherewithal to perform even beyond expectations.

“MDCAN HMB Delta State Chapter celebrates one of her own, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji on her elevation as the Head of Service, Delta State. History indeed has been made! This is a great win for MDCAN HMB Delta State in particular and all Doctors in general.

“This is happening in our time. To God be all the glory! May she receive the grace, strength and wisdom to function and to leave her footprints on the sands of time”, the Chairman said.

Dr Okolie expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for finding one of their members worthy to be appointed into this exalted position as the Head of Service, Delta State.

Dr Oseji ,whose appointment followed the retirement of Mr Reginald Bayoko from service of Delta State after 35 years of meritorious service to the State, was sworn in on Monday, 7th April 2025, by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Dr. Mininim Oseji is a Consultant Public Health and Community Physician, and until her appointment, the Permanent Secretary of the Delta State Ministry of Environment. She is a Past National President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) and a member of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA).

Dr. Oseji began her civil service career as a Medical Officer in Central Hospital Agbor, then Central Hospital, Asaba (now Federal Medical Centre, Asaba). As a Consultant Public Health Physician, she also served as Medical Director, General Hospital, Okwe-Asaba, and later as Director, Public Health, Ministry of Health, Asaba.
