Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has enjoined the new Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Oseji to work closely with the State Assembly, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and stakeholders to drive development and progress in Delta State.
Guwor spoke via a statement to congratulate Oseji on her appointment and subsequent swearing-in by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Speaker in his congratulatory message to Oseji, who is the second female Head of Service since the creation of the state, urged her to further improve efficiency in the state’s civil service.
Guwor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nkem Nwaeke, said “streamlined bureaucratic processes would eliminate red tape and promote the implementation of innovative ideas to enhance service delivery in the system.”
The Speaker charged the new Head of Service to provide visionary leadership and guide the civil service with integrity and wisdom.
Guwor emphasized that adherence to rules and regulations within the civil service would promote good governance and foster transparency and accountability in the state.
The Speaker expressed optimism that Oseji will make meaningful impact and contribute to the growth of Delta State, even as he wished her well in the task ahead.
“I congratulate the new Head of Service for a well-deserved appointment. She has an impressive record from years of experience. I enjoin her to bring her wealth of experience to bear in the civil service of the state.
“The MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O Oborevwori needs the support of all stakeholders in the state. The civil service is key to development and must be strengthened for better service delivery.”
“The new HoS has a responsibility to build a better and stronger system. I pray that God grants her the wisdom to succeed at this task”, Guwor stated.
