Easter: Don’t Panic, NSCDC Assures Deltans

Deploys 958 Personnel

Ahead of the Easter festivities, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Delta State Command, has deployed 958 officers across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

The deployment, which took effect recently, was ordered by the State Commandant, James Ovye as part of efforts to forestall any breach of peace and safeguard lives, properties, and critical national infrastructure during the holiday.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Anthony Uchenna, Commandant Ovye charged officers to conduct themselves professionally and remain vigilant at all times.

He further directed that intelligence gathered should be matched with immediate action, especially in known black spots and flashpoints within the state.

“Our mandate includes protecting all critical national assets and infrastructure. I expect all officers to take this duty seriously and carry it out in synergy with sister security agencies,” Ovye said.

He assured residents that robust security arrangements are in place, urging them to go about their Easter celebrations without fear or apprehension.

“The safety of Deltans is our priority. We are committed to ensuring a crime-free Easter for everyone in the state,” the Commandant added.
