A 27 years old man, Perry Etchie, who was accused of stealing a motor battery was allegedly stabbed to death by a young man whose identity unknown at as the time of filing this report.
An eye witness, however, informed The Pointer that the incident occurred in the early hours at number 30 Odion Road, Warri on Tuesday 25th June, 2024.
It was also gathered that Perry was stabbed to death right in presence of his aged father, who was said to have pleaded for mercy for his child and that he was said to have told Perry ‘ s assistant that Perry was innocent of the accusation to the deaf ears of the assailant.
The father of the deceased, who spoke to our correspondent in tears, narrated that the accusation was about a week before the death of his son as he insisted that his son was innocent of the accusation.
The alleged killer of Perry Etchie was said to be on the run when our reporter visited the scene of crime, while the lifeless body of Perry Etchie was covered with a brown colour blanket.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Police Command SP Bright Edafe were unsuccessful at as the time of filing this report.
