Tinubu To Build 50,000 Housing Units Across Nigeria —Dangiwa

  • Flags Off 250 Renewed Hope Estate In Delta

THE Minister of Housing, and Urban Development, ARC. Ahmed Dangiwa said, President Ahmed Tinubu has planned to deliver a total of 50,000 housing units across Nigeria.

Dangiwa made this statement yesterday during the flag off a 250-housing unit tagged, Renewed Hope Estate at Ekpan, Uvwie local Government Area of Delta State.

According to him, the Housing unit includes 7 Renewed Hope Cities that will have between 500 and 1,000 housing units per site in each of the six geopolitical zone in continuation of the nationwide groundbreaking exercise for housing projects under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development

Dangiwa said, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR launched the project in February with the commissioning of a 3,112-housing unit in Karsana, Abuja.

He said, “Each Estates will have 250 units per site in the remaining thirty (30) states.

With this housing programme, we plan to unlock the massive potential of housing development to create jobs, uplift lives, and boost economic development. This is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President to Stimulate Inclusive Growth, Lift 100 MILLION Nigerians Our of Poverty And Build a $1 Trillion Economy “

Dangiwa said the first leg of   the ground-breaking exercise of 1,500 housing units in the northern part of Nigeria embarked on includes 250-housing unit Renewed Hope Estates, one each in Katsina, Yobe, Gombe, and Sokoto, and a 500-housing unit Renewed Hope City in Kano and work is  ongoing at each of these sites currently.

He said, “our plan is to have all of them completed within the next couple of months and made available to Nigerians in line with Mr. President’s desire to provide quality housing for all Nigerians. Under the Renewed Hope  Agenda, while  he warned against uncompleted  projects saying,  there is zero tolerance for uncompleted projects.

The Delta State Governor, His Excellency Sheriff Oboriewvori represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, at the ground breaking ceremony commended  the Federal Government for including Delta among the 13 States for the commencement of the Renewed Hope Housing Estate project, saying, that, Delta State is  proud to partner with the Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, which will assist in tackling the housing deficit in the Warri metropolis.

He said, “I am very pleased with this project which will help to ameliorate the housing deficit not just in the country but also in Delta State.

“As to affordable housing in Nigeria is a recurring problem worsened by a rapidly growing population, inflation, poverty, and a lack of access to mortgage; the problem range from shortage, affordability, equality, and accessibility which as a result, many urban dwellers face the risk of displacement, homelessness and social exclusion

Also, in a goodwill message, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Goodness Creative Ideas Limited, Prince Sam Ogrih , appreciated President Ahmed Tinubu and Dangiwa for the laudable project sited in Ekpan, Delta State.

Ogrih commended the Minister for his professional acumen while he also lauded the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oboriewvori for making it possible for the project to be sited in Ekpan as well as  shaping a better future for Deltans.
