Dcn Oborevwori Lauds Red Cross Society

For job well done and for rendering humanitarian services to Delta State, wife of the state Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Dcns Tobore Oborevwori has extended her commendations to the Nigeria Red Cross Society.

She gave the commendation when she received a delegation from the state chapter of the Nigeria Red Cross Society at Government House, Asaba.

Addressing the delegation, the wife of the Governor said the Nigeria Red Cross Society had worked tirelessly to ensure that the most vulnerable got succour and relief during distressed times.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to partnering with the body to address humanitarian concerns and alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable in the state.

While introducing her pet project, the You Matter Charity Foundation to the visitors, Deaconess Oborevwori called for collaboration from all stakeholders to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

Responding, the leader of the delegation and Chairman, Delta state chapter of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Chief Adolphus Anuagasi said the visit was to identify with the state government for performing well in its one year in office and to intimate the governor’s wife of the organization’s coming activities.

They expressed satisfaction with the state government support for the humanitarian group and appealed for more collaboration.

In another development, the First Lady also played host to the Association of Women In Trade and Agriculture, (AWITA), South South Zone.

The governor’s wife emphasized the importance of women empowerment, stressing that it was her passion to see women being self-reliant to support their families.

She promised to support indigent women to get equal opportunities from the present administration.

The governor’s wife encouraged women to work harder, be more prayerful and support their husbands to ensure  formidable families.

The leader of the delegation, and wife of the immediate past chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Mrs. Gloria Itere said they were in Government House to congratulate the governor’s wife for impacting lives positively through her pet project and to introduce the body to her.

Mrs. Itere said the AWITA was a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), founded in 2019 with branches spread across the thirty-six  states of the federation, with a vision to promote women empowerment.

She said the group comprising of women in different skills and agriculture was designed towards promoting and accelerating women potentials, sensitization, partnering and inclusiveness.
