The Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, has called on community leaders in the State to maintain peace in their various communities as the Delta State Government would not tolerate any form of disturbance in the State.
Chief Uzor advised a meeting with the United Ufuoma Fish Farmers Association (UNFFA) Ekpan, in Uvwie Local Government Area over lingering issues between the Association and the Ekpan Development Committee (EDC) as well as Ekpan youths.
He disclosed that the Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was aware of the case, adding that they should continue to live in peace while the peace team finds an amicable solution to the matter, even as he promised that he would reach out to the other parties (EDC) and Ekpan youths for a peaceful dialogue. In the same vein, the persisting conflict between Umusam, Emu-Ebendo, and Obodogwa with Kwale Gas Gathering (KGG), a department under Xenergi Oilfield Company in Ndokwa West Local Government Area over land boundary dispute and sharing formula has been resolved. Chief Uzor admonished the parties to always conduct themselves civilly so that they could enjoy the benefits given to them by the Oil Company as host communities, as well as avoid anything that would bring division among them.
