The gas cylinder of a local canteen owner, usually known as mama-put, exploded in the popular Nupe line of Igbudu market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the canteen usually operates near a warehouse where insecticides are stocked.
Though no casualty was recorded, infrastructure, goods and other properties worth millions of naira were lost to the inferno, despite efforts to put off the fire, as it was observed that the fire fighting vehicle seen at the scene arrived late.
As at the time of filing in this report, shop owners, including the local canteen owner were scampering to save the remains of their goods and were not willing to grant an interview.
