THE Rotary Club of Edjeba, District 9141, has installed Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior as the 4th President for the 2024/2025 Rotary year.
The investiture ceremony of Rotarian Okpeahior was held at DY Event Centre, Edjeba, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The installation of Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior as the 4th President of the Rotary club was unique as the Rotary International District 9141 Governor, Rtn Chinedu Ikegwuani tops prominent Rotarians from within and outside the District attended the event.
The ceremony started with the inauguration of the beautification Project of the Edjeba roundabout by District 9141 Governor Rotarian Chinedu Ikegwuani which is in line with the vision of Rotary international.
The DG maintained that the project has given the community a face lift and also deepened a stronger bond of friendship between Rotary club of Edjeba and their mandate area.
At the reception, Rotarian Ikegwuani encouraged Rotarians and friends of Rotary Club to sustain the fight against polio.
The Immediate Past President of Rotary Club of Edjeba, Rotarian Sunny Oveisi while delivering his Valedictory speech appreciated members for the support he was accorded during his year, saying that the club was able to embark on life-changing projects and advocacy programmes most especially in areas of environmental sustainability which is one of the seven areas of focus of Rotary international.
He described his successor, Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior as a square peg in a square hole who fully understands the vision of Rotary international as it strives in meeting social needs of the vulnerable in society.
The installation committee chairperson, Rotarian Joy London, said Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior has been a high flying committed leader in the club and expressed high confidence in him.
Responding, the newly installed President of Rotary Club of Edjeba, Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior appreciated the club for the opportunity to serve even as he solicited for support in actualizing the core values of Rotary for a better society.
Rotarian Okpeahior added that Rotary is made up of men and women of compassion and unbridled commitment to see a world of Peace, Development and growth.
The investiture ceremony saw awards presented to some distinguished personalities who had remained resolute in the course of Rotary international by Rtn. Kenneth Okpeahior.
High points of the ceremony were the official decoration of the Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior as the new President by the immediate Past President, induction of new members, raffle draw as well as fund raising for the projects and programmes for the 2024 /2025 Rotary Magic Year.
