NON-indigenes have been called upon to participate actively in the forthcoming local government elections in Delta State.
The Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Non-indigene and Community Development, Lion Chukwu Anthony made the call in Asaba while speaking with newsmen.
He observed that the election is for all those who are qualified to vote and as such, non-indigenes who have their voter cards should actively be involved in the electioneering activities by campaigning for candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and also, come out on July 13 to cast their votes for only the candidates of the PDP.
He said, “This election is for all those who are qualified to vote and be voted for, so, non-indigenes should take it seriously and participate in the process.
“Our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is not discriminatory with his policies and programmes, so, we should come out and support all the candidates of the PDP.
“Whether in our shops or at home, non-indigenes should campaign for the candidates of the PDP and should thumbprint only the umbrella logo on election day because those who are contesting on the platform of the PDP are our representatives and will always protect our interest.”
