Delta SACA Open To Synergy, Says Aduraosi

BY ESTHER EDOJAH

The Delta State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDs has reiterated its mission to provide a platform for the formulation and implementation of well-coordinated programmes and activities, and to harmonise the efforts of various interest groups towards a results-oriented response to the pandemic.

This position was taken by the functioning Executive Secretary and the Director of Administration and Finance of the Delta State Agency for the Control of Aids, (SACA) Mr Solomon Aduraosi during an advocacy visit by the Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN), Delta State Chapter.

“Many children are being orphaned by AIDS with aftermaths like stigmatisation, vulnerability with relations and society in general and therefore the Agency is very sensitive and ready to respond to the capacity that it can to reduce the burden of those orphaned by HIV and AIDS.”

Aduraosi further said that the Delta State Government has a gazette (The Delta State HIV/AIDS Anti-discrimination, Prevention and Protection Law, 2022) designed to protect the orphaned and that the Agency was ready to partner and work with any organisation to help eliminate HIV/AIDs in the state.

Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator of the Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN), Delta State Chapter, Mr Eleh Chibuzor, said the association is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) anchored in all the states in the country with the national office in Abuja.’
