Ezenyili To Set Up Committees On Devt Of Oshimili South

The newly sworn in Chairman of Oshimili South, Hon. Chief Obi Kelvin Ezenyili has disclosed plans to set up committees to drive the process developmental governance in Local Government.

Ezenyili gave the disclosure in his Inaugural speech at the council secretariat in Asaba.

He said the setups will drive the process throughout the administration to the transparent benefit and inclusiveness of all.

According to him the committee which are the Oshimili South Security Council, Oshimili South Economic Team, Oshimili South Advisory Council, Oshimili South Youth Council, Oshimili South standing committee on Youths and Women Empowerment, Oshimili South Security Trust Fund, Oshimili South Executive Council, will help ensure that the dividends of democracy which the Party stands for gets to the masses.

While thanking the people of Oshimili South for their support towards the Party, and for giving him another opportunity to serve them, he promised not to disappoint the confidence they have in him.

Seeking for more of their support, he promised not to disappoint them adding that he would work collectively by consulting critically with the electorates, leaders, the traditional institutions and our people in general.

Ezenyili said in the coming weeks, ward leaders we would be called upon to discuss on how to move the wards forward in terms of providing for the people.

He urged the youths in Oshimili South will not allow themselves to be used negatively or to the benefit of a particular individual or leader to the detriment of the majority.

He said the time for youth continuity is now or never, adding that they must rise up and make democracy work by fighting for it, collectively.

Earlier at the Dome Event Centre, the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori charged him and other newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the 25 local governments in the state to embark on viable infrastructural projects and to improve on their Internally -Generated Revenue.

Oborevwori also cautioned against overtaxing an already burdened populace reeling under the painful effects of the current economic hardship.
