The foremost Urhobo socio-political group, Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organization (UPIO) has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the resounding victory recorded in the local government elections in Delta State.
The Public Secretary of UPIO, Bishop Duke Akpososo, who spoke to journalists in the Ekpan residence of its National President, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, noted that PDP deserved the success.
He attributed the electoral victory to the laudable achievements of the PDP across the state under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. “We at the Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organization (UPIO) did not expect anything less.
Akpososo added that the landslide victory of the PDP was a show of appreciation by Deltans to Governor Oborevwori for his achievements so far, just as he noted that it was also a protest vote by Deltans against the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the prevailing economic crunch in the country.
The cleric boasted that the PDP would replicate the triumph in the concluded local government elections in the 2027 general elections.
The Publicity Secretary of the pro-PDP group urged Deltans to sustain their support for Governor Oborevwori and the PDP to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
