THE Chief of Staff to the member representing Delta North Senatorial District, Dr Michael Nwoko has hailed Deltans for their outing in the July 2024 local government elections.
Nwoko commended Deltans, stressing that their decision to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over other political parties was the best in selecting those to represent them at the grassroots level.
Nwoko made this known while speaking with journalists shortly after the swearing-in of the 25 local government council chairmen and their Vice at the Dome event centre in Asaba Delta State.
He said the unprecedented presence of party faithful, their friends and well-wishers in their numbers at the polls was evidence that the PDP was the popular choice, adding that it had never been recorded in the state.
Nwoko described the election as peaceful, transparent and an expression of the people’s mandate to the PDP. While thanking the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the support he gave to the party’s candidates, he said it was the foundation of the democracy.
Also appreciating Sen Ned Nwoko, his Chief of Staff said the lawmaker did not only cast his vote but went ahead to monitor the electoral processes across the Local Government Areas.
