METROPOLITAN Academy Demonstration Daycare Nursery and Primary School located in Asaba, the Delta State capital, is set to graduate some of its students today. Headed by a seasoned educationist/counselor, Mrs. Margaret F.A. Nwani with many years of experience, she has been in the front-burner of raising children that have made their marks in different fields of human endeavor.
Mrs.Margaret Nwani who hails from a noble family in the agrarian and peaceful community of Akwukwu-Igbo, headquarters of Oshimili North local government area of Delta State, and happily married, to late Engr. Nwani of Onicha-Olona in Aniocha North local government area, is blessed with many siblings.
Her love for education at a very tender age while leaving with her aged grandmother as she lost her biological parents at early age of six years was amazing as she was all the time seen to be studious. She through the good will of God, she believed in, went to school and from the wisdom and God’s making not withstanding her coming from a very poor but humble background, however rose through the famous Alabama State University where she came out in flying colours through scholarship.
She later came back and received a degree in education. When she came back to Nigeria in 1987, and with her well-established skill, she became an employee as Director of Guidance at St. Patrick’s College, Asaba, from 1988-1995. It was at this point she saw the need to give back to the society especially to serve as part of her contributions to her beloved country Nigeria and in doing that, she established a school which today is known and called Metropolitan Academy Demonstration Daycare Nursery and Primary School in Asaba, located in a serene environment.
It is on record and important to state that this academician of repute with establishment of her school, the Metropolitan, which is described as citadel of learning since 34 years ago till date, also has to its credit so many persons groomed and from different part of the country, who also passed through the school either as kindergarten, nursery or the primary and by special grace of God as well as receiving Jesus as her Lord and savior at an early age where she also had the opportunity to gather children in her community and took them to church where she had the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1995, adding that till date she has remained a practical and committed servant of Jesus Christ going his righteous ways.
Mrs. Nwani who as a Proprietress of this great educational institution also has to her credit series of Christian books she authored amongst them “101 ways to defeat the devil and possess your possession”, “Break the family curse and others”. Meanwhile, the school according to the proprietress is getting set for its graduation ceremony slated for this week Friday where the pupils will be expected to showcase their talents in the various outdoor activities mapped out to make the day and also serve as a day for the parents, guardians, friends and well-wishers of the school who will also be expected to come and join the graduation ceremony slated to begin at 10:00am at the school premises.
