Ndokwa East LG Inaugurates Legislative Arm

THE 8th Assembly of the Ndokwa East Local Government, Delta State, has inaugurated its Legislative Arm with 20 newly sworn-in Councilors, marking a significant milestone in the region’s governance.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place recently at the Council Secretariat in Aboh, was attended by distinguished guests, including member representing Ndokwa East Constituency and Deputy Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Osamuta and State Commissioner of Primary Education, Hon. Kingsley Ashibogwu.

The Local Government Chairman, Hon. Vincent Osilonya, administered the oath of office to the new Councilors, all from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and they are: Hon. Anochie Zik, Hon. Ossai Louis, Hon. Anifite Ifeanyi, Hon. Nwogo Mary, Hon. Analuwe Desmond, Hon. Dikeadi Elizabeth, Hon. Kaine Kenneth, Hon. Mrs Joy, Hon. Ossai Ojugbeli, Hon. Iyama Victor, Hon. Odone Victor, Hon. Bright Enueshike, Hon. Ogiriki Franklin, Hon. Odili Ifeakachukwu, Hon. Oviemuno Jeremiah, Hon. Oguafor Edison, Hon. Iliromah David, Hon. Asure Gospel, Hon. Okuchukwu Jude, and Hon. Ogbum Chuks.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Osilonya urged the newly sworn-in Councillors to be honest, law-abiding, dedicated to their duties, and to carry out their responsibilities without prejudice. He emphasized the importance of their role in serving the people and making a positive impact in the community.

Shortly after the inauguration, the 8th Assembly held its first sitting and elected its leader and deputy leader. Hon. Ogiriki Franklin and Hon. Nwobo Mary emerged as leader and deputy leader, respectively.
