A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Prince Temienor Oghenekevwe has extolled the virtues of late ex-minister of state for education, Olorugun Kenneth Gbagi, promising to consolidate on his legacies.
Speaking to newsmen recently, the former Delta State House of Assembly aspirant commended all those within and in the Diaspora for attending and making the funeral ceremony of late Kenneth Gbagi, held in his home town, Oginibo in Ughievwen kingdom a huge success.
He described the late political stalwart as a father, mentor and great leader, who left behind the most valuable assets by maintaining a high level of integrity, credibility and accountability, adding that, his firm support for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) until death remains an unending testament of his persistence and strong determination for effective governance.
“I worked with him while he was in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a governorship aspirant but he could not get the candidacy of the party and he moved to SDP.
According to him, after the 2023 general elections, late Gbagi fought so gallantly for what he believed and in all, he never resorted to any form of illegality. He was firm and rallied so much on the instrument of law, doing so much to regain the people’s trust and confidence in leadership, hence he once made a hashtag, “Gbagi’s Trust 2023”.
He stated that, the late industrialist and investor as was a man who strongly detested corruption, adding that, besides building roads, hospitals, schools, his drive to secure employment for the youths further complemented his giant leadership disposition.
He emphasized that, even Chief Kenneth Gbagi’s demise could not alter the fact that he was successful in all aspects of life, noting that his legacies will definitely be sustained, not only by Deltans, but the nation at large.
