Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme has identified love and perseverance as ideal for successful marriages.
Onyeme spoke, yesterday, at the silver jubilee celebration of the marriage of Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Graham Imade at House of Freedom, Asaba.
Onyeme, who thanked God for sustaining the marriage of the Imades described ACP Imade as “very humble, a workaholic and very energetic.
“I want to thank Mrs. Imade for the love and for being resilient even in the face of daunting challenges.
“For a marriage to survive 25 years is worth celebrating as it requires love and perseverance.
“We pray that God will grant you more and more happiness in your marriage, congratulations,” Sir Onyeme who was accompanied to the thanksgiving by his wife, Ezinne Catherine Onyeme said.
Delivering a sermon at the service, Rev. Ade Agbonle, who quoted Isaiah 42:8, which says,”I am the Lord that is my name. I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols,” urged the Christians to always give thanks and praise to God for His faithfulness and goodness upon mankind.
He prayed for the couple and the entire family.
The couple who renewed their marriage vows at the service, said that God has showed him and his family favour both in marriage and in his job.
ACP Imade thanked God, the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, and his wife, Ezinnie Catherine Onyeme, and most especially his wife for standing by him through thick and thin.
