Edo Group Lauds Oborevwori For Creating Riverine Infrastructure Ministry

THE coalition of the riverine communities of Edo State has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori for creating a riverine communities’ infrastructure ministry, adding that the governor has broken the jinx of ages of riverine development impediments.

In a statement by its National President, Barrister OweiIpiteikumoh and the spokesman, Hon. Ezekiel Daniel in Asaba, said: “It is with great joy in our hearts we write to show gratitude and appreciation to our amiable governor for listening to the pleas of the Izons to set up a ministry with the sole jurisdiction of attending to the yearnings of the riverine communities of Delta State.

“It is worthy of note, Your Excellency, the difficult terrains and daunting challenges of the Izons as a people. This we have been striving to live above over the years whilst contributing to the growth and development of our dear state. We believe your knowledge of the harsh conditions we the Izons necessitated your establishment of this ministry which we are most grateful for. We have been waiting for over fifteen years for this kind of intervention.

“We also appreciate the choice of your appointment to head this very important ministry. We believe strongly in the capabilities of Hon. Ebikeme Clark to manage this important ministry. We congratulate him wholeheartedly and wish him a hitch free run of this office.

“We won’t also forget to show our gratitude to Papa E.K Clark whose tireless efforts at bringing about the dividends of good governance and of democracy to our doorsteps. His doggedness on progressive issues is always an inspiration to us his children and protégés. We say a big thanks to you sir.

“Our vote of thanks also goes to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) for his constant and steadfast clamour for the best for us all. We cannot over-emphasize his contributions both in the past and now.

“In the same vein, we express our gratitude to the Chief Sheriff Mulade, who in the last eight years focused his advocacy firmly on an intervention agency basically dedicated to the well-being of the riverine area and other critical Izon stakeholders.

“We strongly believe that the yearnings of our people will be squarely addressed by this ministry of Your Excellency, and so we pledge our total allegiance to this course while applauding your benevolenceand magnanimity.
