To ensure an all-inclusive governance in Aniocha North Local Government Area, the Chairman, Emma Chinye has inaugurated 85 political aides to contribute their quota in the actualization of his mandate.
The political aides were selected from various communities within the local government and are members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who performed well during the last local government elections.
While addressing the appointees, Chinye said that the appointment was necessary as it was to encourage leadership and broader participation in grassroots governance.
Chinye said that the appointees were entrusted with the responsibility to be ambassadors of his administration both in their respective communities and the council area at large. He stre ssed the need for close involvement in political engagements to align with the vision of a prosperous Aniocha North while charging the aides to mobilize the people to be partners in his government. Chinye noted that the constitutionally guaranteed third-tier status of the local government and its attributes of participatory democracy make it a training ground for potential political leaders, urging the appointees to leverage this position and groom themselves by being trustworthy and fruitful with the little they received.
In his remarks, one of the appointees, Jude Nwawodoh commended the local government chairman for finding them worthy to serve in this capacity, stressing that the people have not had it this way in the political history of the local government area. He said that their appointment was a demonstration that Chinye would rebuild the council area, even as he promised that they would discharge their duties diligently. He asked God to reward Chinye and the people of Aniocha North Local Government Area.
