The extent to which young people desperately pursue money without commensurate labour has become more alarming by the day following chilling revelations that girls now exchange their ovaries for money to buy wigs.
This was disclosed by a netizen with the Instagram handle @Warri_spec in a short video clip posted by InstaBlog9japbm; a revelation that has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians.
According to the netizen who spoke in Pidgin English, ‘’So girls now sell the eggs in their body. Something that God has given to you to produce children later is what you now sell to doctors just to buy curls (hair) to wear. You do not even know the active ones or even your fertility status. You sell your eggs just to buy hair
‘’Now, you have issues with your friend and she is exposing you, telling the world that you sell your eggs just to buy wigs. For me, it is the desperation. Warri girls, is that how you behave? Because of hair, you sold your eggs and then in the future you blame witches.
‘’Guys, if you take a girl out during your talking stage, ask her how many of her eggs she has sold. These girls now sell their eggs just to package life; they do not even sell it for important reasons, just to buy hair’’ she said.
Surprisingly, Nigerians were divided in their reactions to the news as some claimed it was normal and accepted in other climes while others condemned the act. According to Omoyemeh_special, ‘’my cousin sold hers severally to pay school fees. She is happily married with kids’’
In what appeared to be a sarcastic comment, Just_one_adepeju asked ‘’where is the shame? Where is the dignity? Where are the morals? Where is the hospital to donate?’’
