…Assures Improved Healthcare

IN a bid to boost unfettered access to health care services across the state, the Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC), Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, yesterday assured Deltans that there will be a significant improvement in the quality of healthcare services provided in hospitals across the state.
He gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony of Committee and Youth Employment Committee of Afiesere Community, where 100 individuals were registered into the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative (IEAI) held in Afiesere Community, Ughelli-North Local Government Area.
According to him, the initiative aims to support vulnerable individuals who require urgent healthcare by enabling them to benefit from the scheme. He noted that the President-General of Afiesere Hon. Luke Umokoro has covered the costs for 100 people to ensure they receive quality healthcare.
He mentioned that the government has made significant efforts to support the scheme, ensuring that funds are available to manage the influx of vulnerable individuals joining the program, with assistance from philanthropists in the community.
Dr. Akpoveta praised Mr. Luke Umokoro for his significant support in ensuring that his community has access to free quality healthcare. He also congratulated Mr. Umokoro on his appointment as the President-General of Afiesere Community, wishing him success in his leadership role.
Similarly, Mr. Umokoro, the event’s sponsor and newly elected President-General of Afiesere Community, commended the commission for swiftly and smoothly conducting the registration process.
“As someone who works in the health center, I am aware of the challenges people face. Given the opportunity to serve my community as the newly elected President-General, I decided that my people and I must embrace this scheme to ensure their safety,” he said.
