Omamerhi-Chukwurah Urges ANAN Members To Remain Focused On Professional Devt

chairman of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Asaba Branch, Mrs. Victoria Omamerhi-Chukwurah FCNA, has urged members of the accounting body to focus on their professional development at all times, bearing in mind that  ANAN is a premium brand of choice.

Omamerhi-Chukwurah spoke during the August 2024 monthly meeting of the association held at Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba. Flanked by her exco members, she also called on members to remain united and give their support to the growth and betterment of ANAN Asaba Branch.

It would be recalled that the ANAN Asaba Branch Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Omamerhi-Chukwurah has been working round the clock since her election on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Labour House, Asaba as the first female chairman of ANAN Asaba branch.

Her achievements so far include partnership with stakeholders on expanding the sphere of influence of ANAN Asaba Branch. This took her and the exco to Ibusa in the Delta State Capital Territory on a visit to the Obuzor of Ibusa, HRM, Prof. Louis Nwaoboshi who was conferred as Patron of ANAN Asaba branch. The traditional ruler of Ibusa, an erudite don welcomed the partnership and promised to look into requests by the association.

Omamerhi-Chukwurah, a Fellow of Chartered National Accountants (FCNA) emerged unopposed to become the first female chairman of the branch.

During the August monthly meeting, a teeming number of professional accountants in different MDAs, local government level and the private sector who are members of Asaba Branch of ANAN were present.

Omamerhi-Chukwurah, in her speech thanked her professional colleagues for turning out for the meeting, while encouraging them to continue to do so. She then assured that they will always be carried along. She said that she and the exco will continue to bring positive change, while she solicited the support of members.

She tasked the members to rebrand themselves mentally as serious-minded professionals just as she called for regular attendance at monthly meetings of the branch to enable all participate in decision making.

Omamerhi-Chukwurah enjoined ANAN members in Asaba to work together at all times so that ANAN will continue to be the premium brand of choice.

Part of the activities that members look forward to at ANAN’s monthly meetings is knowledge-sharing. In the month of August, Mrs. Anthonia Anyafulu spoke on the topic “Generative Business Ideas” where she called on members to think out of the box so as to supplement their monthly salaries.

Many will not forget her cliché “My money is in your pocket”, a way of saying that a good business idea will earn the patronage of others at all times.

Omamerhi-Chukwurah announced that the ANAN conference will hold from September 16-19, 2024 while the South South Zonal conference will hold on the 17th in Port Harcourt. During the meeting, they welcomed a member who was attending the monthly meeting for the first time.

A major highlight was the cutting of the birthday cake in honour of members who were born in the month of August, followed by light refreshment, jokes and exchange of ideas among members.
