Delta Among Safest States In Nigeria, Says Onyeme

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has described Delta as one of the safest states in the country.

Onyeme spoke yesterday, in Asaba when members of Men’s Missionary Union, Delta State Baptist Conference paid him a  courtesy visit.

He observed that Delta State is very safe, saying, “there is nowhere bad people do not exist, they are everywhere all over the world.

“Fortunately, for us in Delta, we have had very few ugly experiences and socio-economic and religious activities are booming in our state.

“Delta is safe, our people are accommodating and we thank God for  the peace that we enjoy. “Comparable with other states, Delta remains one of the safest and the best for business activities,” the deputy governor said. He commended members of Men Missionary Union, Baptist Conference for choosing Delta State for their convention, stating that the governor and people of the state encourage religious actions.

Sir Onyeme also urged Deltans to continue to engage in positive activities that will always project the state to the world. “God will continue to give us the enablement to do what will promote our state both economically and spiritually,” the Deputy Governor added.

Speaking on behalf of the leader of the delegation, and Conference President, Rev. Dr. Dike Godspower Utih, a member of the Funds Raising Committee for the Baptist Annual National Conference, Rev Patrick Ejime Okoh, said that the visit was to invite the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme to the Annual Baptist convention that will commence on August 21 in Asaba.
