Abducted NDLEA Officials Released Unhurt

BY GODWIN NZEMEKA

THE Delta State Command of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has confirmed the release of its kidnapped officers unhurt.

The Spokesperson of the State Command, Mr. John Kennedy who confirmed the development to our correspondent yesterday, said they were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sisters agencies.

He explained that the senior officer was not abducted along with his orderly but another official of the command in another location entirely. While applauding other sister’s agencies for their efforts that resulted to the release of the officers, the NDLEA spokesperson was silent on whether or not ransoms was paid for their freedom.

It had been reported that the senior Officer of the NDLEA was abducted some distances away from the head office of the agency located off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku road, Aniocha south local government area of Delta State last week Thursday.

The officer was kidnapped by the hoodlums who laid ambush for him when he was heading home at the close of work at about 8:00 pm on the fateful day.
