Adhere To Stipulated Time, Traffic Rules, Taskforce Warns Tricycle Operators In Asaba

TRICYCLE operators, popularly known as Keke, in Asaba, the Delta State capital, have been urged to operate in line with the state’s rules to avoid arrest.

The Deputy Director of the Taskforce Monitoring Team for Tricycle operators, Comrade (Chief) Okafor Uchenna gave the warning while emphasizing the importance of obeying laws to prevent conflicts.

Comrade Uchenna clarified that the 10pm time limit for night operations is in force and will be enforced by the police, other security agencies and the taskforce.

He also warned that any ticket fee above N300 was illegal and should be reported to the police.

According to him, “To avoid issues, Keke operators are advised to operate within the designated hours and stop operating beyond the 10 pm stipulated by government to prevent conflicts with authorities”

“Obey all traffic rules and regulations for a safe and orderly environment, then pay the correct ticket fee, be aware that the official ticket fee is N300, and any amount above that is illegal”

Therefore, report extortion and if you are asked to pay more than the official fee to the police for prompt action, he advised.
