Africa: The Development Issue

African leaders must rise up to develop Africa. The servant- master relationship between African leaders and their former colonial masters can never lead us to the next level of development. It is a known fact that African leaders dance to the whims and caprice of the Western powers in order to maintain their hold on power to the detriment of their people.  African leaders have the notion that when they do not succumb to the dictates of Western powers, their stay in power will not be guaranteed. Yes, the Western powers have the penchant to remove African Leaders who go against their exploitative tendencies.  One thing is certain, they do not want our development. Their mission is to retard our progress and make Africa a beggar continent through diplomatic exploitation.

The Western powers have caused confusion in many countries where their leaders refused to be used to exploit their own people. To them, for any African leader to hold on to power, he must be loyal to the Western powers. Libya is destroyed today because of the seed of discord sowed by the Western powers, particularly the United States of America, USA. The Western powers will equip brother to fight against brother, in order to destroy them and make both political and economic gains. We have not forgotten how they equipped Iraq to fight Iran. And when Sadam Hussain became so powerful, they destroyed him and his country. Today, they are equipping Ukraine to destroy Russia, their common enemy, and thousands of Ukrainians have been killed but to the Western powers, the war must continue in order to get Russia to her knees and, if they succeed, Ukraine will become their slave in future.

Today, some French-speaking West African countries have taken their destinies in their own hands by telling France that enough is enough. These countries got their independence from France long ago, but they are still under the exploitative control of France. They have mineral resources but they have remained very poor because of the exploitative relationship with France. The recent coup in Niger republic is a typical example of Africans saying NO to their former colonial masters. Unfortunately, the Western powers are pushing ECOWAS to declare war on Niger republic so that West Africa will become a war zone for easy exploitation.  Imagine how they were praising Tinubu, whose election they once said was marred by irregularities. This shows the chameleonic nature of the Western powers.

Unfortunately, the Nigerian President is doing everything to please the Western powers. Let the President know that if he tries anything funny with Niger republic, Nigeria will become a war zone and our economic recovery will be a thing of the past. When this happens, the West will take over our economy and give us peanuts for economic recovery that will never materialize for centuries to come.

Jonathan was defeated as a result of Western propaganda amounted against his government because he refused to support their same sex marriage legislation. This angered the West and they vowed to deal with Jonathan and the then senate President, David Mark. African is a blessed continent where sanity and nature reign supreme. They are better than us today because they destroyed our culture and things that held us together and the centre can no longer hold. China and India are what they are today because they took only good aspect of western civilization, technology, and kept their culture intact. Africans swallowed everything and that is the problem we have today. African leaders must begin to think of how to free their countries from the economic exploitation of the Western countries. They can only do this if they have the mandate of the people to be in power, but if the mandate is stolen, they will always enslave themselves to the Western powers for protection against the injured citizens of their respective countries.

When we go into memory lane, we will discover why some good African leaders who had vision for their countries were removed through military coups. The late Gen. Muritala Mohammed is a typical example. He had good vision for Nigeria but that vision would not benefit the West in their economic exploitation of Nigeria.

Today, changes are coming, and some Franca-phone countries in West Africa are saying No to their leaders who are puppets to some western powers. Let our leaders learn their lessons and let Africa rise again. Let us say no to bad leadership. Democracy that is not derived from the will of the people is no democracy. True and genuine democracy must produce leaders who have majority support. Leaders who manipulates their ways to power can never enjoy the support of their people, so they will always rely on western powers for support and then close eyes to their exploitative tendencies.
