Agazuma Advises Deltans, Non-Indigenes To Abstain From Planned Protest

By Christy Aboghe

The Chairman of the Non-Indigenes Association, Delta State, Sir Bernard Agazuma, has advised members and Deltans to abstain from engaging in the proposed 10-day nationwide protest.

Agazuma gave the advice while speaking with newsmen in Asaba, yesterday.

He urged his members and Deltans not to take part in the protest slated for Thursday, August 1, 2024, as it would affect the nation’s economy and cause more insecurity to the nation.

While making reference to the last ENDSARS protests, the chairman said any attempt to embark on another protest would worsen the economy of the country.

He admonished them to see the recent economic hardship as a global issue, which the government is addressing.

The chairman advised them not to join forces with the organisers to cause rancor or unnecessary violence under the disguise of protest that will not give them a voice and relevance in the country.

According to him, “many of his members had benefited from the state government in the area of appointments, distribution of palliatives to vulnerable persons, empowerment, and job employments amongst others.

Agazuma advised his members to stay away from the planned protest which he said would be hijacked by hoodlums as was done during the ENDSARS protests.
