The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Isaac Agbateyiniro, has presented the 2024 supplementary budget proposal to the legislative house of the council for consideration.
Agbateyiniro explained that the budget estimates, which comprise 46.6 per cent recurrent expenditure (consolidated revenue fund charges, personnel cost and overhead cost), and 53.4 per cent capital vote, encapsulate the MORE Grace Agenda of the Agbateyiniro administration.
He said the supplementary budget cuts across growth and development, radical rural transformation, agricultural revolution, commerce and industrialization as well as enhancement of peace and security.
Agbateyiniro gave the breakdown of the recurrent and capital expenditures as N5,793,183,667.35 and N6,639,480,292.41” respectively. The chairman said: “The increments are due to the hyper-inflation experience in our present-day economy and the introduction of new viable projects in this More Grace Agenda, to meet up with the MORE Agenda of Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, by spreading the More Grace Agenda to the good people of Warri South Local Government Area.”
The Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Joy Ejumudo, assured Agbateyiniro, that the budget proposal would be given speedy consideration and subsequent approval.
