Agbolayah Charts New Course For Community Devt In Delta

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Dr Toyin Agbolayah has charged political appointees under his office to be good ambassadors of the MORE Agenda.

Dr Agbolayah gave the charge at a maiden meeting with Executive Assistants, Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and Special Assistants (SAs) to the Governor on Community Development from the three senatorial districts held in Asaba.

The meeting, which marked the official start of his tenure, began with Dr Agbolayah expressing his appreciation to the Governor for entrusting him with the crucial role of Special Adviser.

He articulated his vision to set a new benchmark as the most effective Special Adviser in Delta State’s history by ensuring that all aspects of his responsibilities were executed flawlessly, with a particular focus on fostering empowerment and driving progress in collaboration with other governmental bodies.

Dr Agbolayah while calling on the political appointees to embrace unity and collaboration, emphasized that only through collective effort and mutual support can the desired outcomes for the communities be achieved while highlighting productivity and teamwork as essential elements for success.

He said his office would also be involved in engaging oil companies operating in the communities on the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in driving community development, noting that the government cannot achieve societal development alone.

He pledged to execute his duties with dedication and integrity, contributing positively to the state’s community development initiatives.

Agbolayah urged the appointees to be committed, dedicated and always think outside the box for meaningful development and progress while saying that the meeting sets the stage for a concerted and effective approach to community development, with a strong focus on unity, collaboration, and sustainable growth.

Some of the appointees who spoke welcomed the Special Adviser and assured him of their support in the realisation of set goals. The meeting featured the official handover of the Office to the New Special Adviser by the Head of Administration. Mr. Festus Adilike.
