Delta State Transport Commissioner, Mr Onoriode Agofure has reaffirmed government resolve to train and re-train the state workforce for enhanced performance.
Agofure gave the re-affirmation, when he declared opened a one -day capacity building workshop on ‘Effective Service Delivery‘ put together by the Directorate of Transport at the Prof Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex.
The commissioner reiterated that training and re-training of workers in the state civil service was one of the cardinal points in the M.O.R.E Agenda of the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, adding that the governor was committed to the course of workers in the state, which he described as unparalleled and unprecedented “.
Agofure charged the participants to ultilize the ample opportunity judiciously through their unflinching cooperation and active participation in the workshop ,as it would impact greatly on their productivity while discharging their duties.
He commended the state Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the release of funds for the training as well as the organizers, for their painstaking efforts.
Professionals from the academia were invited to lecture on topics such as ‘Time Management ‘,Tips on effective Management ,How to avoid saving too many stuff in your files, Urgent vs Important tasks and making time for important projects amongst others.
Dr Akpojero Jomo Ikpen, discussed ‘Stress Management and all its attendant effects, causes, symptoms and how to manage stress as well as how to avoid scheduling too many appointments and meetings etc.
Mr Ageh Christopher a participant, who spoke on behalf of other participants, appreciated the state government and the Commissioner for Transport, Mr Onoriode Agofure, appealed for regular workshops for all civil servants and promised to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
