BY ELOHOR FOGHOLA
The Executive Director, Finance and Administration on the board, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), and convener of Okugbe Isoko for Sheriff, Chief Kome Okpobor has declared that there is no other party in Isoko nation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Chief Okpobor stated this during the inauguration of Executive Committee members Okugbe Isoko for Sheriff group yesterday in Isoko Development Union Secretariat, Oleh in Isoko South.

Chief Okpobor expressed gratitude to God for the successful inauguration of the group and thanked the party’s leaders, elders, youth, and women for their unwavering commitment and reaffirmed the group’s allegiance to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing that Okugbe Isoko is not a faction within the party but a collective effort to support Governor Oborevwori’s outstanding leadership.

“There is no other party in the Isoko nation; this group was formed to back my boss, the Governor of Delta State,” Okpobor stated. “We are here to strengthen our resolve for the future, ensuring a seamless transition into 2027. Our governor has done remarkably well for the Isoko people, and it’s time for us to give back and unite in this cause.”

Reaffirming the group’s purpose, Chief Okpobor sent a strong message to detractors, emphasizing that Okugbe Isoko was fully prepared to defend the PDP and its interests. “To those trying to undermine our party, know this: Isoko is PDP, and PDP is Isoko,” he declared.

He pledged to support Okugbe Isoko for Sheriff with his resources, including plans for a comprehensive empowerment program to touch every ward in Isoko.
“I will ensure that before Easter, we empower our people across the 24 wards of the Isoko nation,” Okpobor declared. “This is not a group of discrimination but of unity. What affects one of us, affects all of us. When our governor is excelling, we must all emulate him.”

Chief Okpobor commended the contributions Chief Mrs. Fome Udunwa (Woman Leader Isoko South), and Mrs. Endurance Ibru (Woman Leader Isoko North), as well as the PDP Chairman of Isoko South chief Victor Ekelegha for their commitment and roles in making Okugbe Isoko a symbol of unity. He urged all members to spread the message of Governor Oborevwori’s achievements, particularly to those within the party who may harbour dissenting views.

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Okpobor urged party members to channel their grievances through the newly inaugurated Executive Committee.
While responding, the Director General of Okugbe Isoko for Sheriff, Chief Frank Ozue, said that there is no room for complacency in the organization as they prepare for the 2027 gubernatorial elections under the PDP.

He urged the members of the executive committee to contribute actively, and take their roles seriously, adding that their appointments are not for titles, leisure, or prestige; rather, they are tasked with a critical responsibility to drive the party’s success.
