A former chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Kevin Aigui, has felicitated with fathers as the world makes Father’s Day celebration.
Aigui harped on the roles of fathers as springboards to a healthy society, noting that a healthy society cannot be achieved without robust and effective fatherly character, which would stand as a pointer to a fulfilled and glorious future.
However, the aspirant called on fathers to be role models to their children and society at large. He said: “Happy Father’s Day to all fathers around the world. I am calling on fathers to scale up their efforts so that we can have a better society by being role models to their children.” “We can’t have a better society if fathers fail to mentor their children, priming their creativity and spurring them to greater heights because it is not what you leave for your children as an inheritance that matters but the ideas and the positive school of thoughts you were able to enshrine in them during your lifetime that will count. The bible says “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they grow, they will not depart from it “.
“I am making this clarion call to commemorate with fathers all over the world as we celebrate ourselves. It is time for us to be that hero we would love and desire to see in our children”.
