THE Akugbene-Mein Traditional Chiefs Council has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration for impacting positively on the lives of all Deltans through the provision of massive infrastructural development across the state.
The vote of confidence is contained in a five – point communiqué signed by the Palace Secretary, Chief Deinyou Anthony Brinemughan at the end of the council’s meeting at the Royal Palace, Akugbene-Mein in Bomadi Local Government Area.
The meeting of the Council, presided over by the Pere of Akugbene – Mein Kingdom, Pere Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama Viii, particularly appreciated Governor Oborevwori for the prompt approval of the resurfacing of the road from Ohoro junction to Bomadi, down to Gbaregolor, saying that the gesture would help to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
The council called on the Federal Government to reconsider some of its economic policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira, saying that such policies had inflicted economic hardship on Nigerians.
The Akugbene – Mein Traditional Chiefs Council also called on the nation’s security chiefs to rejig the security architecture so as to safeguard lives and property of all Nigerians.
The Council tasked indigenes of the kingdom to continue to support both the state and federal government in the collective effort to advance the rapid development of the country.
The Council congratulated Hon. Dagidi Rowland Andaye, the Chairman, Bomadi local government Area and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Powei Guembe on their electoral victory and subsequent swearing – in and prayed God to guide, guard and grant them the wisdom to move the local government area to greater heights. The meeting was attended by the entire members of the council.
